Over the course of a year, we will equip you with the confidence, skills, experience, and networks required to launch your product.

Our approach works. We have provided £9.2 million in grant funding to upskill over 150 Enterprise Fellows, who have gone on to create companies valued over £550 million.

As a charity, we don’t accept equity.

What You Will Receive

As a program participant, you’ll receive:

Qualification Requirements

We broadly support the following groups:

  • Researchers wanting to spin out a company from a university.
  • Recent graduates seeking to found a startup
  • International PhD students (already based in the UK) wanting to spinout or startup
    Key Eligibility Criteria
  • You meet our key eligibility criteria if:
  • Your solution’s Technology Readiness Level (TRL) is 4 or higher.
  • Equity investment in your business is under 500,000 GBP.
  • Your innovation is protectable and you own or co-own the IP
    In the founding team, you hold the most equity in the company.
  • You are, or aspire to be, the CEO or COO of the business.

Additional Criteria for Startups

For startups:

You aren’t a student or employed during our program.

You have completed your very first university degree by 1 July 2017
Additional Criteria for Spinouts
For spinouts:

You are currently employed by the university
If applicable, your PhD viva is scheduled by November 30, 2022.
