Established in 2010 under the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development (NOGICD) Act, the NCDMB is tasked with guiding, monitoring, coordinating, and implementing the Act’s provisions.
It originated from the vision of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, who in 2001 established the Presidential Committee on Local Content in the Oil and Gas Industry.

Along with the original essay written specifically for the competition, entrants must also submit a letter of admission or a signed letter of attestation from their Head of Department (HOD).
