About DSSC Recruitment in Nigerian Army
The Nigerian Army’s Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) program allows civilians with degrees (B.Sc., B.Eng.) or HNDs in relevant fields to become commissioned officers.

Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Naval Architecture or Ship Design (preferred)
- Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) in a related field (acceptable)
- Higher National Diploma (HND) in a relevant field (considered)
Membership (advantageous but not required):
- Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE)
- Council of Registered Engineers of Nigeria (COREN)
- Be a Nigerian citizen by birth.
Have good grades:
- Second Class Upper or higher for a University degree (B.Sc. or B.Eng.)
- Upper Credit for a Higher National Diploma (HND)
- Be computer literate (advantageous, but not required).
- Have completed full registration with relevant professional bodies in Nigeria (if applicable).
- Have your foreign education credentials authenticated (if applicable).
- Have at least 5 credits in your O’level exams (WAEC or NECO) including Math and English.
- Have completed your NYSC service or have an exemption letter.
- Meet the height requirement (minimum 1.68m for men, 1.65m for women).
- Be between 22 and 28 years old.
- Get a letter of attestation if you are currently serving in the military or paramilitary.
- Pass a qualifying aptitude test (date and time will be announced online).

- Abuja: Army Day Secondary School (Mogadishu Barracks)
- Lagos: Nigerian Navy Secondary School (Navy Town Ojo)
- Port Harcourt: Nigerian Navy Secondary School (Borokiri)
What to Bring:
- Copies of your degree and NYSC discharge certificate
- Parent/Guardian consent form (completed)
- Acknowledgement form (completed)
- Copies of any foreign education credentials (if applicable)
